Responsibilities:

As Tax Manager, you will be a key member of our finance team, responsible for ensuring accurate and timely filing of corporate taxes. Your role will involve managing tax risks and minimizing the effective tax rates of the Group through effective tax planning and strategies that are in line with the local tax jurisdiction where the Group operates.

· Ensure timely submission of corporate tax returns.

· Develop and update the tax compliance manual.

· Evaluate work progress involved in the tax filing cycle and implement continuous improvement initiatives to ensure consistency in compliance with local legislation.

· Work closely with tax consultants to ensure that potential compliance issues are dealt with and addressed appropriately upfront.

· Implement mitigation actions to prevent tax leakages identified.

· Resolve tax audit issues and build strong relationships with tax authorities to expedite tax finalization.

· Keep abreast with the latest developments in tax practices and legislation and participate in reviewing tax impact on business decisions.

· Develop an action plan for managing and monitoring tax risks and providing tax advisory services and support to business units.

· Develop a transfer pricing mechanism to withstand tax authority’s challenges and ensure transfer pricing documentation is available and maintained to mitigate local transfer pricing risks.

· Process tax treaty application to the BIR, as applicable.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be a CPA with a degree in Accounting
  • At least 8 years of experience in a tax professional environment.
  • Team player and excited to learn new things.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to perform self-checks.
  • Advanced MS Excel user and working competence in using accounting systems.
  • Must have experience working in a bank or auditing banks.
  • Some experience in an audit firm is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Willing to embrace and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
