Chemist
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Chemist with hands-on experience in cosmetic characterization or a related field such as personal care, food science, chemical product evaluation, or pharmaceutical quality. The ideal candidate will perform physicochemical testing, stability studies, and laboratory measurements on cosmetic and haircare products while ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with established testing procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform physicochemical characterization of cosmetic and haircare products.
- Conduct pH, viscosity, rheology, microscopy, stability, foam, and appearance testing.
- Execute stability studies, including temperature cycling, freeze-thaw, centrifugation, and long-term monitoring.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, databases, and sample traceability.
- Analyze test results, identify trends or anomalies, and prepare technical reports.
- Follow laboratory SOPs and contribute to process improvements and workflow optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams while maintaining high-quality documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline with 2+ years of laboratory experience, or equivalent laboratory/QC certification.
- Experience in cosmetic characterization, personal care, food science, chemical products, or pharmaceutical quality laboratories.
- Strong understanding of physicochemical testing techniques.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.

- pH measurement and instrument calibration
- Rheology (viscometer/rheometer operation)
- Microscopy and particle/emulsion evaluation
- Stability testing and product performance assessment
- Appearance, texture, viscosity, and foam evaluations
Software Skills
- Microsoft Excel (data analysis, formulas, charts)
- Microsoft Word (SOPs and documentation)
- Microsoft PowerPoint (technical presentations)
- Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Teams
- Windows operating system and file management
