Job Title: Social Media Specialist/Content Creator

Position Type: Temp for 6 months

Location: Raleigh/Durham, NC (onsite)

Salary Range: $32-35/hr

Overview:
We are seeking an innovative and creative Social Media and Web Specialist to develop and execute social media and web content objectives that align with the Corporate Communications strategy. This role will increase the company's online presence by writing, reviewing, editing, designing, coordinating, and posting content for social media and the website. The position will work collaboratively with teams across the organization to achieve goals and support the company’s mission of leading innovative science and driving clinical outcomes to transform people's lives.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 4-5 hours per day
  • Total expected hours per week: 25 hours

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the Vice President, Corporate Communications, and senior staff to develop social media and website content.
  • Research, write, edit, proofread, and post content for social media and the corporate website.
  • Develop and maintain a monthly editorial calendar highlighting milestones, awareness days, and other relevant topics for external audiences.
  • Regularly update and maintain social media channels and the corporate website.
  • Support content review processes with key stakeholders, including securing content approvals, posting, and routing responses appropriately.
  • Stay updated on new online technologies, best practices, and industry trends to identify innovative strategies and solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Communications teams at Bayer and company subsidiaries, to ensure consistency of messaging and visuals.
  • Align social media and website content with key business external campaigns and priorities.
  • Manage vendors, projects, and planning globally, requiring coordination and collaboration with leaders across functions and companies.
  • Partner with Human Resources, Employee Resource Groups, Employee Engagement Committee, DE&I Council, and other teams on priority topics, particularly those related to employee culture and engagement objectives.
  • Build and implement social media programs that encourage engagement on platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, and others.
  • Monitor social media groups, trends, tools, and applications, and recommend actions/next steps.
  • Monitor and report on the company’s social media and website performance, providing insights based on data.
  • Respond to social media inquiries in a timely and courteous manner, proactively engaging with audiences.
  • Perform other related duties as needed or assigned by the Vice President, Corporate Communications.

Qualifications:

  • Professional experience managing social media channels across all major platforms.
  • Professional web content development experience, including proficiency in WordPress.
  • BA/BS in communications, business, science, or a related field (required).
  • At least 2 years of experience working in social media roles.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry (preferred).
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.
