Tax Accountant

Position Title: Tax Compliance Analyst
Duration: 4-month role + Possible Extension
Pay Rate: $35- $40.00/hr on W2
Location: Berkeley Heights, NJ 07922
Schedule: Hybrid - 3 days onsite in Berkeley Heights, NJ

Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of accurate and timely sales and use tax returns
- Prepare monthly sales/use tax journal entry, reconciliations and working papers to support the General Ledger tax account balances
- Assist in determining nexus, identifying filing requirements, and registering to ensure tax compliance in all state and local jurisdictions in the US
- Respond to state and local tax notices and inquires
- Research various tax issues
- Work closely with various corporate and divisional groups and various departments through the company
- Continuously improve process and productivity
- Special compliance and audit projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Business Degree in Accounting/Finance
- Minimum 5 years' previous tax compliance experience
- SAP experience or equivalent financial software required
- Taxware experience or other tax compliance software required
- Strong PC skills including proficiency with MS Office applications
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Must have a sense of urgency and work independently
- Must possess strong organizational skills with attention to details while be capable of multi-tasking
- Should be familiar with general accounting concepts, practices and procedures
