Job Title: Procurement Specialist (P2P / Indirect Buying)
Position Type: Contract
Location: San Jose, CA (Onsite, 4–5 days/week)
Salary Range / Rate: $38/hr (USD)
Job ID#: #165459
Job Description:
A major global tech company's Shared Service Center is looking for a sharp, process-driven Procurement Specialist to own the full Procure-to-Pay cycle across North and South America. This is not a passive coordination role — you'll be managing real vendor relationships, driving competitive bidding, and keeping procurement operations running accurately and efficiently across a complex, cross-regional stakeholder base. Strong extension potential with real visibility into large-scale global procurement operations.
Responsibilities:
- Own the full Procure-to-Pay cycle end-to-end — from purchase request through PO issuance, invoice matching, and payment coordination — with accuracy and speed
- Drive competitive bidding processes including RFQ/RFP documentation, contract negotiation, and framework agreement execution
- Hold vendors accountable to SLA and lead-time commitments, proactively flagging and resolving performance gaps
- Serve as the go-to resource for day-to-day procurement and billing issues, resolving them efficiently to keep operations running
- Partner with IT, Logistics, HR outsourcing, and TPA teams across North and South America to ensure procurement alignment and compliance
- Monitor procurement metrics including SLA compliance, lead times, and cost performance, supporting process improvement initiatives
- Identify and implement process improvements that reduce cycle times and increase procurement efficiency across the Shared Service Center
Requirements:
- 2–4+ years of procurement or P2P experience, indirect spend preferred
- Strong hands-on knowledge of end-to-end P2P workflows (PR → PO → Invoice → Payment)
- Proficiency in Ariba, Coupa, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent procurement systems
- Proven ability to manage supplier negotiations, contract execution, and SLA tracking
- Strong cross-functional communicator who can manage stakeholders across multiple regions and functions
- Portuguese and English fluency (spoken and written) — required for day-to-day communication with stakeholders across North and South America
