Job Description:
As part of a diverse and dedicated team of technicians, you will play a critical role in building launch vehicles, spacecraft, and launch facility systems. Your work will directly contribute to manufacturing, assembling, and supporting hardware testing to meet rigorous program requirements. This position offers a unique opportunity to impact the history of space exploration, requiring a strong commitment to safety, precision, and repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities:

  • Assemble structural components to aerospace standards, ensuring precision and quality.
  • Collaborate with engineers to review design concepts, provide feedback for ease of assembly, and support development tests.
  • Review, edit, and follow detailed work instructions for assembly tasks.
  • Plan and communicate assembly steps for complex mechanical installations.
  • Safely handle hazardous systems, including those containing chemicals or high-pressure components.
  • Work effectively in a team environment, adapting to multiple and rapidly changing priorities.
  • Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills to overcome technical challenges.

Requirements:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in precision assembly, preferably in aerospace or related fields.
  • Proficiency in drilling and preparing close-tolerance holes for structural assembly and fastener installation.
  • Strong ability to document and maintain accurate records, adhere to strict procedural compliance, and read technical drawings and prints.
  • Experience using standard mechanical tools and basic fabrication equipment.
  • Familiarity with assembling and troubleshooting aerospace or military hardware.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Physical ability to climb ladders and stairs, work in small or restricted spaces, and lift and carry up to 25 lbs.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in aerospace or related fields.
  • Experience in launch vehicle or propulsion system assembly and vehicle integration.
  • A&P license or equivalent experience in launch vehicle or propulsion system assembly.
  • Familiarity with pressurized system safety for pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience operating heavy lifting equipment, such as cranes and forklifts, around flight-critical hardware.
  • Proficiency with 3D measurement tools and software (e.g., Spatial Analyzer, Verisurf).
  • Working knowledge of rocket propellants, including hydrogen peroxide, RP, and cryogenics.
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD tools (CREO preferred) and ability to interpret GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994 standards.
