Warehouse Technician II
About the Role
Warehouse Associates, alongside our team of Field Technicians, work with smart shopping carts across our partner locations to set up, diagnose and resolve hardware and software related issues. You will be one of our subject matter experts for cart components and construction. You will work with tickets submitted via our Support Portal when troubleshooting and resolution is needed, and provide valuable feedback on the state of hardware and software to our teams.
About the Team
The Warehouse Team takes pride in managing the hardware life cycle from the time the carts arrive in our possession to the time they are delivered in store and beyond. We prep the carts for distribution and provide support and maintenance to keep retailer downtime to a minimum.
Responsibilities:
- Unpack and conduct Inbound Quality Checks of incoming shopping carts and other hardware from our manufacturer
- Set up carts for shipment to retailers: configure software and hardware to retailer needs
- Conduct Outbound Quality Checks on outgoing hardware
- Pack carts and hardware for shipment to retailers
- Provide feedback from warehouse and field-deployed hardware back to the engineering team via our internal ticketing portal
- Understand technical needs and issues; suggest and implement solutions
- Act as a reference point for all cart-related queries at the hardware level; understand all aspects of cart components and their construction
- Ensure outbound carts meet Weight & Measures criteria
- Investigate and resolve intermittent problems; provide troubleshooting and assist the software support team
- Use electrical knowledge to troubleshoot cart components and accessories (e.g., chargers); open hardware modules and fix or replace electrical components inside
- Support ongoing training of warehouse and field technicians
Minimum Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Wi-Fi setups & configurations and wiring of routers
- Experience conforming to Weights and Measures criteria for local certification
- Experience with communication tools such as Slack, Google Sheets & email
- Able to use battery-operated power tools
- Capable of working with powered stackers and pallet jacks; valid powered pallet jack (walkie) operator license required
- Safety shoes/boots required
- Ability to learn quickly and follow established procedures
- Able to work in a warehouse environment and lift up to 40 kg
- Meticulous and diligent with tracking materials by serial number
- Strong verbal and written communication; highly organized; customer-focused
Preferred:
- Previous experience with Point of Sales hardware & software support, and hardware with embedded scales
- Experience handling wires, electronic circuits, computers, copiers, printers, POS systems
Contract details: 6-month contract. Schedule Monday–Friday, 8am–3pm (note: during slow weeks, work may be as few as 2 days per week).
