Job Title: Laboratory Operation Technician

Job Overview:

As a Laboratory Support Technician, you will assist with managing scientific instruments, maintaining inventory integrity, supporting lab operations, and ensuring all equipment and services function optimally. This role requires coordination with internal teams and external service providers to ensure a smooth laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compile and assemble program governance documents including inventory lists, KPIs, and financials.
  • Open and manage work orders for equipment repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Support communication and issue escalation within the OneSource lab services program.
  • Conduct regular inventory sweeps and spot checks of all lab instruments.
  • Identify and document changes in lab equipment including serial numbers, models, and locations.
  • Update SAP database through the ARC (Asset Record Change) process.
  • Support additional lab activities and coordination as requested by leadership.
  • Escort third-party engineers during site visits and ensure documentation is properly completed.
  • Verify completion of service activities and determine follow-up needs.
  • Communicate effectively with lab personnel and stakeholders to ensure issues are addressed professionally and promptly.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required; associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in inventory management or handling scientific/laboratory instruments.
  • Must be comfortable using a computer, printer, calculator, and copier.
Must-Have Skills:
  • Experience with general lab equipment (fridges, freezers, incubators, biosafety cabinets, MiliQ systems).
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage documentation and inventory accurately.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to bend, squat, stretch, and reach during service tasks.
  • Clear close-range and distance vision, along with color and depth perception


Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Must remain stationary more than 25% of the time.
  • Occasionally required to move throughout lab and office environments.
  • Frequent use of office and lab equipment.
