Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager with a strong background in power generation, controls, instrumentation & controls (I&C), IT, network infrastructure implementation, or related technical construction disciplines.
- The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in power plant environments and managing multidisciplinary construction teams. Experience with NERC compliance is highly preferred.
- The Construction Manager will oversee field execution and ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within scope and budget, and in accordance with applicable specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- The role will support various project phases, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), implementation, Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning, project turnover, and close-out.
- Lead and manage assigned construction projects in the field.
- Coordinate construction activities with contractors, engineers, vendors, commissioning teams, and other project stakeholders.
- Ensure project scope, objectives, schedule, budget, and quality requirements are met.
- Maintain effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor construction activities and resolve scheduling, coordination, and field issues.
- Maintain a strong onsite presence throughout project execution.
- Perform construction oversight and inspections to monitor the quality of work and materials.
- Ensure work is performed according to project specifications, drawings, contracts, codes, and applicable standards.
- Review contractor and supplier performance and identify deviations from project requirements.
- Provide regular project status updates, inspection reports, risk assessments, and recommendations to project leadership.
- Identify and communicate potential project risks, issues, and schedule impacts.
- Work closely with contractors, engineering teams, safety personnel, commissioning teams, and site management.
- Support project commissioning, turnover, documentation, and close-out activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve construction processes, project execution, safety, quality, and efficiency.

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 7+ years of experience in construction, engineering, project management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of demonstrated construction management experience.
- Previous power plant or power-generation environment experience is required.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and contractors.
- Strong understanding of construction and field operations.
- Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and schedule multiple activities.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, specifications, and instructions.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated leadership ability.
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive as required.
- OSHA 30 certification
- NERC compliance / NERC CIP experience
- Controls or I&C construction experience
- Electrical/instrumentation experience
- IT or network infrastructure implementation experience
- FAT/SAT and commissioning experience
- Experience with power-generation or pollution-control equipment
- Experience with contractor/vendor management
- This is a field-based construction role requiring significant onsite presence.
- Candidates must be able to perform essential field activities, which may include:
- Walking and prolonged standing
- Climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolding
- Bending, stooping, and working in various field conditions
- Working in confined spaces when required
- Wearing required personal protective equipment and respirators
- Following applicable safety and environmental requirements
