Job Title: Engineer I – Substation Design
Location: Las Vegas, Nevada
Salary Range: $41.39 per hour

Position Summary
With a focus on engineering design services for substation facilities, this professional ensures that projects are completed on schedule and within allocated resources. They apply prescribed methods and standard practices to execute specific tasks, contributing to the successful completion of projects. Additionally, they assist other engineering staff on more complex projects, leveraging their expertise to support and enhance team efforts. Their role involves a blend of technical precision and collaborative support, ensuring high standards and efficient project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manages multiple substation projects, prioritizing work and collaborating with consulting firms and stakeholders.
  • Ensures quality control by providing construction support, coordinating with construction forces, and conducting job site inspections.
  • Coordinates and communicates with other departments to complete procurement tasks.
  • Assists and guides other departments in solving non-standard substation design problems.
  • Provides accurate cost estimates for company budgeting to identify cash flow requirements.
  • Contributes to the development of detailed project schedules and updates the project management system.
  • Ensures compliance with all policies, codes, and regulations.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in engineering. 
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrated knowledge of:
  • Fundamental theoretical and practical knowledge in substation/control engineering principals and other phases of engineering.
  • Working knowledge of economic analysis methods, budgeting procedures, and company policies, rules and regulations.
  • Utility engineering practices and procedures, construction methods and material specifications. 
Demonstrated skill such as
  • Oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
