Title: Principal Consultant – Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (AAP)
Location: Fully Remote (UK Only)
Duration: 6 Months Contract
Pay rate: £65/hr. – £80/hr.
Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Assess existing AAP environments and design highly available target-state architectures across AAP 1.x, 2.4, and 2.6 platforms.
- Lead migrations and modernization initiatives leveraging Automation Mesh and execution node clustering.
- Deploy, manage, and optimize AAP Operator-based installations on Red Hat OpenShift.
- Design and implement Event-Driven Ansible (EDA) solutions and Private Automation Hub (PAH) governance frameworks.
- Review, modernize, and optimize enterprise Ansible playbooks, ensuring compatibility with Ansible Core 2.16+.
- Integrate AAP with enterprise infrastructure, CMDBs, CI/CD pipelines, Git repositories, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Define and implement RBAC models, credential governance, auditing, and compliance controls.
- Develop architecture roadmaps, disaster recovery strategies, migration plans, and stakeholder presentations.
- Execute RHEL 8 to RHEL 9 upgrades using Leapp and manage OS lifecycle transitions.
- Lead PostgreSQL database migrations and phased application upgrade strategies.
- Architect modernization of legacy RPM-based AAP deployments into containerized and OpenShift-based environments.
- Expert-level experience with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (AAP), including AAP 1.x, 2.4, and 2.6.
- Strong expertise in Automation Mesh architecture, execution node clustering, and enterprise-scale automation platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift administration and Operator-based deployments.
- Deep knowledge of Event-Driven Ansible (EDA) and Private Automation Hub (PAH).
- Advanced Ansible playbook development, modernization, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
- Strong experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration, including RHEL 8 to RHEL 9 upgrades.
- Expertise in PostgreSQL migrations, database administration, and application upgrade strategies.
- Experience integrating automation platforms with Git, CI/CD pipelines, CMDBs, and enterprise infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of security governance, RBAC, compliance frameworks, and auditing controls.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, documentation, and consulting skills.
- Ability to work UK business hours and be located within the UK or nearby time zones.
